The UK's biggest beach spa is opening in March – and it will be less than an hour from London.
Sea Scrub Sauna is set to open its largest location to date at Folkestone Harbour this March. Positioned as the UK’s biggest beach spa, the site is located less than an hour from London by train. The new facility expands the brand's existing footprint in Kent, where it currently operates wood-fired saunas in Margate, Whitstable, and Faversham.
The Folkestone site will feature two wood-fired saunas alongside two cold plunge pools and traditional bucket showers. Additional amenities include a hot tub with a jacuzzi, a wellness cafe, and a dedicated event space for yoga and moon ceremonies. Visitors will be able to access traditional Nordic treatments such as birch whisking, organic salt scrubs, and oil-infused ice balls designed to improve circulation and cleanse the skin.
Monthly full moon ceremonies are also planned for the new venue. These 90-minute sessions typically include essential oil steams, birch whisking rituals, and fire pit gatherings, concluding with a swim in the sea. Standard sauna sessions at the Folkestone Harbour location are scheduled to start from £17 per hour.
