Floating water park including lido and sauna planned for Royal Docks in east London

·Royal Docks

Plans have been proposed for a major floating destination at Royal Victoria Dock West in East London. The project, led by Royal Docks Waterways, covers a 12-hectare stretch of water and includes a floating park, residential units, and a dedicated wellness hub. This development is part of a wider £5 billion investment into the Royal Docks supported by the Mayor of London.

The wellness hub is designed as a year-round facility featuring a floating lido, sauna, and spa. It aims to provide expanded support for free open-water swimming, reflecting the growing demand for outdoor bathing in the capital. The site will also include London’s first floating park, offering landscaped green space and areas for cultural events directly on the water.

The project is currently in the early stages of development, with public consultations now underway to gather feedback from local residents. While the plans are subject to change based on these consultations, construction on the initial phases of the development could begin before 2030.
